Happy New Year, Britnee! Great question. I do not have any problems with goals/vision boards, and do not think it necessarily conflicts with the sovereignty of God. We sometimes assume that trusting in God's plans means we sit idly and do nothing.
The difference is holding our goals and plans open handedly, letting them give us some vision/direction but allowing God to direct us ultimately.
So, in short, dream dreams, write goals but submit them to God, and be encouraged by the Proverb 16:9: "The mind of a person plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."
